Almost Famous
One of the blogs that I follow is called Crazy Little Projects. A really fun thing that this blogger has been doing is a Sew Crazy Monthly Challenge that gives readers sewing projects to try each month. This has been a lot of fun all year and April's theme was "Showering the Young Ones You Love." Several ideas were given to sew for young ones in your lives but there were also ideas of places to donate items that had been sewn.
One of the ideas to sew was a blanket for an organization called Project Night Night. This organization gives blankets, books, and stuffed animals to children who are homeless. I'm always looking for a reason to sew, and this seemed like the perfect one.
So with a seam and a prayer I sewed a small blanket to send to Project Night Night. I hope that it can bless a young child who is in an undesirable situation. Before I took the blanket to the post office to be sent away, I snapped a picture of it and sent an e-mail to Amber at Crazy Little Projects notifying her that I was sending a blanket in because she wanted to try to keep a tally of the number of items donated to the different organizations through this challenge. Guess what happened from there?!?
I checked the blog this weekend and this is what I found...
My blanket scrolling through the pictures at the top of the blog!
Then I scrolled down a little bit and my blanket is also the picture that accompanies the actual blog post that recaps the month of sewing.
And then when you actually get into the blog post, my name accompanies my picture.
So cool! But the coolest thing is that I was able to help someone else while enjoying a fun sewing project.
Check it out for yourself if you want to see how I am almost famous!

Snowed In!
With all the snow days we have had, we've had to find creative ways to pass the time stuck inside!
Play-Doh has been a big hit:
Hide-and-Seek is the newest game to find its way into our house:
Cheerios are great for breakfast even if we don't have milk for them because we ran out in the snowstorm:
Painting?!? Sure, why not:
Who knew an ironing board was good for more than ironing...
Vinegar and baking soda explosions:
And proof that we were really desperate for fun things to do, transferring ice from one container of water to another:
While we did get a little stir-crazy, we did enjoy our time being snowed in. But as much fun as the time was, we are all excited to be back to our normal routines!

Winky Cheese Face
Brea learned a new cheese face just in time for the holiday season which meant we got lots of silly-faced pictures. Here's the new look!

The Adventures of Brea: Goldfish
While baking chocolate chip cookie bars on Saturday afternoon, Brea decided she would like to participate. To accommodate her request I gave her a measuring cup that I did not need.
Brea decided it would be a good idea to transfer her goldfish from her snack cup to her measuring cup which entertained her for a long time.
This transfer did not go as smoothly as is evidenced by the goldfish on the floor.
More than a few goldfish didn't make the trip successfully. Regardless, all the fish were eventually eaten, so mission accomplished!

But once that task was completed a new challenge was needed. She decided to see if she could transfer the goldfish back to the snack cup from the measuring cup.
This task should not be completed one fish at a time. Instead, she attempted to pour the whole measuring cup of goldfish back into the snack cup that still had a top on it.
